• Which character did you relate to most, and what was it about them that you connected with?
  
• Kate’s relationship with her mother echoes Janice’s relationship with her own. What do you think gets passed down in families without anyone meaning to?
  
• Did the setting of the book enhance your experience of the story? What setting was your favorite? The unique plants or something else?
  
• Did the worldbuilding feel unique? Which was your favorite part?
  
• How did you feel about Janice and did your feelings change over the course of the book?

• What secondary character was your favorite and why?

• How does Kate change in the book and is her arc believable?

• What part of the book resonated with you the most and why?
  
• Did this book remind you of any other books you’ve read? How would you shelve it in a bookstore, or describe its “vibe” to other readers?

• What stayed with you even after you put the book down?
